Hey all,
well heres the first blog testin it out. I absolutely love researching music and am here to help others love some of the music I find the best! And what a better year then 2010 when we can expect alot of unreal songs from some of the top artist. Heres my most anticipated cds to be released in 2010.
23 - Anticipated Cd drops of 2010
23.. The Dream "Love King"
Although im not a huge fan of the Dream expect something that people will be feeling. Watch out for this cd, although im not gonna lie ill probably download his single of this cd and thats it.
22.. Jay Electronica "Act II: Patents of Nobility"
Havent really given this guy a chance, but hes making my top list because of the producers of this cd: Just Blaze, NAS, Mos Def and probably the one im most happy about although rumoured is Eminem. Watch out for this cd, it will either make a lot of noise or be complete shit.
21..Santigold
Blowing up in 2008 and with producers like Pharrell expect this cd to be catchy. She had her hits lets see if she can do it again. She has a very cool electric sound to her tracks.
20.. Gorillaz "Plastic Beach"
Not a huge fan of the animated band, but I know there are people out there who are obsessed with this band. Making my top 23 with collaborations with Snoop Dogg and Mos Def watch out for this cd to make some buzz.
19.. Ghostface, Raekwon, & Method Man "The Wu-Massacre"
Well the last reunion of Wu-tang was an absolute fuckery on all accounts. But since Raekwons drop of Cuban Linx im expecting something hot. And we all know Ghostface, Method Man and Raekwon were the hottest artist anyways.
18.. Young Jeezy "Thug Motivation 103"
With supposed producers like Kanye, Drumma Boy and the Bizness we might hear something new from Jeezy. But, dont let that fool you the tracks that have leaked are much like his old beats. However, that doesnt keep them from being decent tracks.
17.. Beastie Boys "Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 1"
After there hit with NAS last summer (Too Many Rappers) we saw a definite buzz in regards to the beastie boys. With NAS as a producer expect this cd to have alot of hype.
16.. NAS, Damien Marley
Nas and Damien Marley have had alot of songs drop since the events in Haiti. Leaked or not they have def had a very interesting style and are creating some rumours of how good their collaborated cd is going to be.
15.. Nicki Minaj
With her signing to young money and dropping some hot verses with drake and Weezy and the whole young money gang we can expect Nicki to drop something that will be very interesting.
14.. M.I.A
After her last big hit "Paper Planes" which was awsome and an unreal show during last years grammys alongside TI, Kanye, Lil Wayne and Jay Z im going to admit I am jacked for the release of this album. Im expecting big things, and I beileve I can, specially from a girl that does an unreal performance well prego.
13.. MGMT "Congratulations"
Comin out with some big hits on their first cd be expected to be amazed by their second. With "Kids" "Time to Pretend" and "Electric Feel" absolute unreal songs I will be having high expectations for this cd. Apparently they are trying to release this cd so you have to listen to it in order rather then just downloading your favourite singles. So we will see how this is accomplished, lets hope the release date doesnt get pushed back.
12.. Common "The Beilever"
After his last cd which seemed to try and make commons style more dancey/futureistic, it did have a couple good beats including "What a World" and "Universal Mind Control". However, the rest of the cd didnt seem to live up to what people were expecting. Look for Commons new cd produced by Kanye and No I.D to leave a big impression
11.. Justice
???? after a big break through in 2008 dropping one of my favourite songs, still rocking in my itunes top 25 most played (D.A.N.C.E). Justice is rumoured by "Billboard" to be dropping a cd in early 2010. With some great remixes and some well created songs I expect this cd to make indie-pop and hip-hop kids to be loving this album.
10.. J.Cole
After being signed with Jay-z Roc Nation and making an appearance on the Blueprint 3 in "A Star is Born" (a song that I think was over looked) watch out for this somewhat new rising rapper. Who signs with Jay - Z and isnt good anyways??? I expect this to be dope.
9.. Dr Dre "Detox"
This album would make it way higher in the list if i knew forsure it was droppin, but its still rumoured.Ive been hearing for like the last three years that its gonna drop soon. And when eminem came out with relapse i thought forsure it would come out asap. But we all kno dre and the way he pushes the release date back so who knows when this cd will actually drop. wouldnt be suprised if its 2012.
The NEXT 8 albums are absolutely unreal these artist I love and cannot wait to hear what they have created. Ranking these in order was a hard task.
8.. Lupe Fiasco “Lasers”
To be released in the first half of 2010 I am absolutely stoked about this album. I loved the cool and thought it had such a powerful message that I cant help but be jacked up about this album. With lots of leaks it looks as though we cant get a forsure release date but watch out for this album. His last mixtape showed to provide lyrics better then what weve seen before, Lupe is forsure going to make a statement with this album.
7.. B.o.B “The Adventures of Bobby Ray”
With his last mixtape titled May 25 it has been reported that this is the date of his upcoming cd. B.o.B has made a name for himself dropping Nothin’ on You (feat. Bruno Mars), but don’t let that fool you on who he actually is. This guy is a track genious. I first listened to him after watching an interview on eminem. Eminem was asked who do you like these days and he answered B.o.B. So I started downloading songs and this guy is amazing. He has a different feel to every song he does and I recommend not only buying this cd when it comes out but also listening to his mixtape titled “B.o.B vs. Bobby Ray”. Producers of this album are Eminem, Lupe Fiasco, TI and JR Rotem. (a pretty dope group)
6.. T.I
Paper Trail was an absolute success, loved the album. Im so excited to hear what he has to come out with next. Legal troubles aside watch out for this album, ive heard some tracks from T.I after paper trail including, “Hell of a Life” and “All Night, and they were absolute dope. This album is gonna be amazing
5.. Drake “Thank Me Later”
A lot of people have this CD as number one in their list, but I just don’t think it can surpass some of the albums below (and yes I am from Canada). He has dropped some unreal songs and came out of no where blowing up the game. The only thing is I feel that he never seems to go hard on any of his tracks just keeps his mellow voice so I am nervous that his cd might sound the same as all his other songs that he has released. However, the songs he has dropped are unreal and the reason why Drake is number 5 on my list. He also has so much hype around him that 2010 is his to lose.
4.. Lil Wayne “The Carter 4”
With Rebirth as his last CD and a lot of people hating it, it looks like a lot of pressure was put on lil wayne to come out with a RAP CD. Although I do like some of the tracks on rebirth, some if find the same as all the others, but I do like that lil wayne tried to go out and do something new to him. That aside he’s the “best rapper alive” so his cd is going to be good we can be assured that. I am excited for this album because he is one of the most creative persons I have ever heard. If you haven’t seen the carter documentary I suggest you watch it and youll appreciate him more as a rapper. Overall, watch out for this cd.
3.. Kanye West
As much as people hate 808’s and Heartbreak, at the time I loved it. Looking back on it I agree it wasn’t one of the best cds, but he did something completely new to the music world. He started so much and I believe he made others try other new things. He created the autotune that was so quickly hated on. Kanye is a legend and Graduation was unreal as a rap cd, expect this one to be as good if not better then Graduation.
2.. Eminem “Relapse 2”
Relapse was unreal !!! such an amazing cd. I read an interview eminem did with complex and he said that Relapse 2 is going to be more like his old cds, which is so sick. He said relapse was when he was getting off his drugs, now that hes off drugs he says his creative mind is at its best. This album is going to be amazing back to the old days shocking with the world with the crazy lyrics he comes up with.
1.. Kid Cudi “Cudder: The Revolution of Evolution”
Man on the Moon created unbelievable noise, shocking everyone. It was something unheard off literally he came out with an album that hadn’t been done before. He incorporated MGMT and Ratatat to produce some wicked tunes. This album is said to deal more with how Cudi’s life has changed, like Waynes World, “Party time, Excellent”. This CD will show how Cudi is now buoyant and exuberant. THIS CD IS GOING TO BE DOPE.
This album list was reflected from complex mags top 25. I adjusted it to what I like.
